Who We Are

Welcome friends & fans of the Charleston International Film Festival.  We are all very excited about our upcoming festival in November 2016. This marks our 9th festival year and promises to be the best one yet.  I’ll let y’all in on a little secret... my ambition is to make the Charleston International Film festival the biggest & best festival on the east coast.

It all started in 2005, when my future husband-to-be (Brian, a Charleston son) and I were living in Los Angeles.  My background & heart was primarily focused on the Entertainment Industry (film production & managing a festival in Beverly Hills).  We decided it would be a really cool thing to put my experience and our ambition to work and build a premier film festival in beautiful Charleston, my hubby’s hometown and our future home.

The groundwork and plans for the Charleston IFF had begun and during 2006 it was getting closer to becoming a reality.  This was going to happen!!!  Charleston International Film Festival became a certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization in 2007 with our inaugural festival opening in May 2008.  It exceeded our wildest expectations!  Thank you everyone who was part of that amazing event and our subsequent annual festivals.

Community Outreach
& Giving Back

The Charleston International Film Festival encourages people of all ages and backgrounds to participate, and works to partner and integrate community groups and educational institutions into aspects of the festival. We hope to provide a platform for other non-profits and organizations to further their mission through film and to promote a greater cultural understanding, philanthropy and volunteerism within the community.

Our Mission is to educate, entertain and inspire through the art & science of film.

The festival provides a premier showcase for all aspects of filmmaking: the art, the filmmaker, talented directors and actors, and the film-lover in all of us. Our goal is to educate the community & festival attendees through the art and science of film, promoting cross-cultural awareness, the exchange of ideas, and social understanding.

The Charleston International Film Festival (CIFF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization created in 2007 to bring people together from all walks of life through the art and science of filmmaking. This unique visual entertainment art has the power to touch lives and stimulate our emotions and mind like no other. Through our festival we are educating and promoting a healthy exchange of fresh ideas and a greater cross-cultural awareness and social understanding with the intention to personally inspire others within our community and around the world to new possibilities.
